Frequently Asked Questions
Answered for quick & easy reference
What are your payment terms?
Out of hospital accounts must be settled directly after the consultation, so please be prepared to pay after your consultation. In hospital accounts may require a pre-authorisation on card and must be settled strictly within 30 days of the procedure date.
What do I have to do before a procedure in hospital?
You have to get authorisation from your medical aid for the procedure so that your medical aid will re-imburse you when you submit the claim to them.
Phone Vergelegen Medi-Clinic and book a bed, if you will be delivering, you will also receive a baby pack. You can phone the hospital to find out what will be included in the pack.
You have to discuss all fees related to the other healthcare professionals’ involved in the treatment plan (e.g. anaesthetist charges, pediatrician charges, physiotherapy, pathology laboratory tests, x-rays, scans) directly with them.
Please don’t eat or drink for at least 6 hours prior to your procedure, if you have to take medicine you can do so with a small amount of water.
The practice will book the theatre time-slot, so you don’t have to do that.
